Study Archaeology

Drawing on both the humanities and the sciences, archaeology aims to extract the maximum amount of information from the incomplete remains of the human past.

We have a strong research reputation and track record for discovery — from the 'Hobbit' in Indonesia, to aspects of Aboriginal history and culture, historical and maritime finds in the Australia-Pacific region, and trade and exchange research in the eastern Mediterranean.

We are also leaders in the delivery of archaeology courses in online mode.

Undergraduate and postgraduate courses

If you have a passing interest in archaeology or you're determined to become a practising archaeologist, our undergraduate courses are for you.

As active researchers and experienced graduate supervisors, we are committed to ensuring graduate success —from Honours through to PhD research — through all stages of the process.
