Warning notices

Notice for Statutory Licence communication

Communications of print and graphic material, and broadcast material made under the statutory licence, should include the following notice to be viewed either before or at the time the item is first viewed.

This material has been reproduced and communicated to you by or on behalf of the University of New England in accordance with section 113P of the Copyright Act 1968 (Act ).

The material in this communication may be subject to copyright under the Act. Any further reproduction or communication of this material by you may be the subject of copyright protection under the Act.

Notices for Display on printers, photocopiers, computers and other equipment that can reproduce material

Under the Copyright Act 1968, prescribed copyright notices are required to be on or near University equipment that can be used for copying or communicating copyright material in any format. These notices provide some protection for the University in the event of staff or student infringements. Faculties, Schools and Libraries are asked to ensure that the appropriate notices are clearly visible.

It is not necessary to have one notice per machine as long as the notices are visible from each machine.

Notices must be printed on A4 size paper.

Equipment able to create print and electronic reproductions:

The Copyright Notice for copiers and scanners is to be displayed on or near any University photocopiers, Multifunction Devices (MFDs), scanners, personal computers (PCs) and any other equipment that has print copying facilities. This includes the ability to create electronic reproductions (digitisation).

Equipment able to create audio-visual reproductions:

The Copyright Notice for AV equipment is to be displayed on or near any University equipment that has the ability to reproduce audio-visual material. This includes videocassette recorders (VCRs), cassette players or PCs. This includes the ability to create electronic reproductions (digitisation).

Equipment able to copy both print and audio-visual reproductions:

The Copyright Notice for print and AV material is to be displayed on or near University equipment (such as PCs) that has the ability to copy and download print and audio-visual material such as images, text, films and recorded music.
