About
StrideStrong is a multidisciplinary research group led by Assoc Prof Robert Crowther, dedicated to advancing our understanding of foot biomechanics, strength, and stability. The group brings together expertise from multiple institutions—the University of New England, Australian Catholic University, University of Waikato (New Zealand), and the University of Queensland—creating a collaborative, internationally-focused research team. In partnership with industry leader Sole Mechanics, StrideStrong integrates cutting-edge biomechanical assessment with practical, evidence-based principles to bridge the gap between research and clinical/performance practice.
Research Foci
StrideStrong investigates the relationships between activity-induced foot loading, intrinsic foot strength, foot structure, and functional performance. The group aims to understand whether higher exposure to weight-bearing activities leads to stronger feet, better foot structure, and improved functional performance.
