Advanced Standing Information - LPAB

UNE gives advanced standing (credit) for students who have completed the NSW Legal Profession Admission Board (LPAB) Diploma in Law subjects. Credit can be granted for whole or partial units and will either be specified or unspecified.

Specified Credit: granted where prior learning is regarded as having reasonable comparability or equivalence to specific units and learning outcomes. The applicant will be granted credit for specific units and credit points (e.g. successfully completing 01 Foundations of Law will give you 6 credit points and is equivalent to LAW100 - Foundations of Law).

Unspecified Credit: granted where the prior learning is considered as having reasonable comparability or equivalence to the learning expected in the course, yet is not equivalent to specific units. The applicant will be granted a total number of credit points by level and/or discipline that will partially fulfil requirements of the course (e.g. 6 credit points for an unspecified level 200 unit: LAW2XX06).

Please visit the School's Advanced Standing Policy page for any further information.

** Advanced Standing (credit) for LAW283 Property Law.

If you have done both 05 Real Property and 08 Commercial Transactions, then you have covered the material that we cover in LAW283 Property Law, and you are eligible for advanced standing (credit) for LAW283 Property Law.

If you have completed 05 Real Property only, then you have covered some of the material that we cover in LAW283 Property Law, but not all of the material that we cover in LAW283 Property Law. If you have completed 08 Commercial Transactions only, then you have completed some, but not all, of the material that we cover in LAW283 Property Law. As you have not completed all the studies required by the Legal Profession Admission Rules, we cannot give advanced standing (credit) for LAW283 Property Law, but the Course Coordinator may grant unspecified credit.
