* This only applies if these exams are completed before you enrol at UNE. Students may not count LPAB exams completed whilst they were enrolled at UNE unless they had our prior permission, in writing in accordance with the Policy on Permission to Enrol Elsewhere.

§§ Students who are 'exempt' a unit do not have to do that unit but must select another 6 credit point elective unit instead. See UNE's policy on Advanced Standing.

** Advanced Standing for LS281 Property Law I and LS282 Property Law II:The syllabi for 05 Real Property and 08 Commercial Transactions don't match exactly with LS281 Property Law I and LS282 Property Law II. Accordingly:

  • If you have done both 05 Real Property and 08 Commercial Transactions then you have covered the material that we cover in LS281 Property Law I and LS282 Property Law II and you are eligible for advanced standing for both LS281 Property Law I and LS282 Property Law II.
  • If you have completed 05 Real Property only, then you have covered the material that we cover in LS282 Property Law II, plus some, but not all, of the material that we cover in LS281 Property Law 1. Because you have not completed all the study required by the
Legal Profession Admission Rules, we cannot give advanced standing for LS281 Property Law I, we will give advanced standing for LS282 Property Law II only.
  • If you have completed 08 Commercial Transactions only, then you have completed some, but not all, of the material that we cover in LS281Property Law I (you would have missed out on native title, fixtures, estates, and adverse possession). Because you would not have
studied these compulsory areas, we cannot give you advanced standing for LS281 Property Law I. The result is that if you have done 08 Commercial Transactions, but not 05 Real Property, you cannot get advanced standing for any UNE unit.
