Advanced Standing for Social Work Students

— for the first social work field education placement based on non-formal learning

Advanced Standing applications for recognition of non-formal learning on the basis of relevant work experience, in relation to Social Work Field Education, will be managed according to the UNE Advanced Standing Rule and associated  procedures and guidelines. These are required to meet the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW) requirements.

This information is relevant for students enrolled in the Master of Social Work or the Bachelor of Social Work, Social Work Program.

Applications for Advanced Standing for Social Work Field Education may only be accepted in relation to the first Field Education unit:

  • HSSW310
  • HSSW330
  • HSSW450.

Advanced standing where granted, will apply to the full unit only.

  • A completed application for 'advanced standing for field education placement based on non-formal learning' from enrolment options in Moodle.
  • A completed Employer Proforma
  • Your CV.
