Reproduction limits for print music

Print music can be copied under the terms of the Educational Statutory Licence and all reproductions must be communicated using Reading List to ensure compliance with the licence.

A reasonable portion:

  • 10% of the number of pages in a work

Up to the whole work if it is:

  • commercially unavailable i.e. it is not available for purchase within a reasonable time at an ordinary commercial price. Confirm commercial availability with copyright@une.edu.au, or
  • in the public domain i.e. copyright has expired in the work

Use of recorded music for educational purposes

Please note: UNE only pays for Tier 1 of the Tertiary Music Licence.

The Tertiary Music Licence is a licence granted from APRA, AMCOS, ARIA and PPCA for the use of both music and sound recordings. Further information about the rights under the licence and how you can use music and sound recordings for educational purposes.
