Laila Mandoh is a Special Education Teacher and UNE 2023 Alumni Rising Star. She passionately believes that "every person can communicate and every student can learn new skills", regardless of their perceived disabilities or abilities.

Laila is the Founder and Lead Consultant at ProKids Consultancy, an organisation dedicated to supporting parents through emotional coaching and supporting families whose children have additional needs, disabilities, ADHD, or dyslexia. She runs regular PDs, seminars and workshops for teachers, parents and community on topics such as parenting, emotion coaching, positive approaches to behaviour management.

With a experience across both public and private schools, Laila’s expertise includes Special Education, Secondary English, and TESOL. She established a pioneering Special Education and Learning Support Faculty at Al Zahra College, IB World School and has supported hundreds of students, parents, and families. She advocates for comprehensive learning support and disability awareness to ensure every student thrives.

Laila completed her Master of Education (Special Education) online at the University of New England in 2020. She also holds a Bachelor of Education/Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Certificate in International Baccalaureate Education from Flinders University.

Laila is an emerging writer, Certified Positive Parenting Coach, and a dedicated disability awareness advocate and keynote speaker.

Giving back through mentoring is one of the most powerful ways to empower and build confidence in the next generation.

As an Alumni Ambassador Mentor, Laila brings valuable skills as an educator, advocate, and public speaker to support the next generation of UNE graduates.
