David is the Managing Director, Syngenta ANZ. A global leader in the Agricultural industry with 20 years of experience, driving commercial strategy across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. David holds a Bachelor of Rural Science with Honours (2004) and a Graduate Diploma in Education (2005) from the University of New England (UNE), where he was a proud member of Earle Page College. Core expertise includes strategy development and execution, organizational design, business development and growth, optimizing end-to-end supply chain and managing cross-functional teams to meet the needs of broadacre cropping, horticulture, turf and landscape, consumer and professional products.

Armidale and UNE hold a special place for David and his wife (a former Nursing student), as they met here during their studies. They are still closely connected with a large circle of friends made during their time at the University.

David often reflects on his time at UNE, particularly his experience living on campus, calling it "probably one of the best experiences you’ll have in your life."

David is deeply passionate about agriculture and advocates for increasing participation in the industry. He is committed to giving back by fostering lasting professional relationships and helping the next generation connect within the sector.

The program provides the opportunity to support the next generation of UNE leaders to reach their full potential. In a rapidly changing environment it is essential to learn from the past but more importantly shape the future and I feel that mentoring provides a great foundation to support others to help shape this future.
