Would you leave your job to follow a respected manager?
"Yes, and I did. It was one of the best decisions of my life and I decided against two higher paying offers to take the job. A lot of what I do is intuitive; I had a gut instinct that my values were aligned with those of the manager. I really respected her values and passion for doing the right thing by others.
When people complain to me about their job, I say 'go and get a job somewhere else'. If you are not being productive or effective, then ultimately that's what you need to do, and it won't be the end of the world.
For me, taking a substantial pay cut to follow a manager opened up my world. If you are truly aware of who you are and conscious of what you are capable of and what you want to do, then taking that leap is far less traumatic. You have a better sense of what you're jumping into."
