With a passion for continual learning, Breezy ensures that her studies fit around her work and family commitments by setting out her goals for the week.
“At the beginning of each week, I usually set out a rough study schedule based on the work I need to achieve and the hours I have available to dedicate to my studies. The advantage of online study is that I can be flexible and adjust this schedule if circumstances change and other commitments arise. “
“I would recommend keeping a clear record of all tasks you need to complete each week and then setting aside specific slots of time to complete each job. That way you can keep a clear vision of the work you have completed along with the work outstanding, and always feel in control of your studies.”
“The availability of a vast amount of subjects offered by UNE over Trimester 3 has provided great flexibility. It has allowed me to maintain a full-time study load per year by sometimes studying three units during Trimesters 1 and 2, and then catching up the units not completed during Trimester 3. “
“I like to work in a variety of spaces, as a change of scenery helps me to focus better. This includes various rooms within my home, and public spaces including libraries and cafes. I will often study whilst travelling on a bus or train and make use of the NSW State Library when in Sydney.”

Breezy has always had a strong sense of justice, and was attracted to the law discipline because of its ability to improve the equality and fairness of the treatment of different societal groups. Her desire to help others is reflected in her care for a family member with a disability throughout her studies, while also running a professional housecleaning business with her sister and holding part-time administration work.
“The intellectual challenge of studying law appealed to me, as I was eager to enhance my problem-solving skills and develop my practical understanding of my society and its functions. I would like to work within the field to make a positive contribution to those in need of legal assistance,” Breezy says.
“As legal scholar and educator Nathan Roscoe Pound said, “law is experience developed by reason and applied continually to further experience’.”
“The aspect of studying which I enjoy most is the opportunity to learn about a case I have heard of, but do not know much about. I like learning about the case, the issues it raised and its significance to a modern context. I enjoy how, throughout the degree, my knowledge of Australia’s legal system and how all the different aspects of it work together is continually expanded.”
