Macleay River Catchment Meeting

Communicating research outcomes: contamination in the Macleay catchment

UNE staff and students on the bank of the Macleay River.

Susan Wilson and Matt Tighe spoke about the recent research on arsenic and antimony contaminants in the Macleay River and food chain accumulation at a community meeting with stakeholders including NSW OEH, Kempsey Shire Council and NSW Derelict Mines. This aimed to enable the catchment decision makers to focus and target management works. The work was funded by a UNE Seeding Grant and forms the basis of an ARC Linkage project that is being developed.
