This unit provides you with the opportunity to investigate a significant economic, business, policy or multi-disciplinary research problem.
You will conduct a specialised and independent study into a topic of your choice under academic supervision and write a dissertation describing your research.
By completing your research project, you will demonstrate to employers your research, problem-solving, managerial and communication skills.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- demonstrate the ability to conceptualise and develop a research–based project, that integrates their own research findings with the current body of disciplinary knowledge;
- demonstrate a capacity for independent study and self-directed inquiry and research; undertake literature searches of scientific journals and integrate these literatures within a research report;
- demonstrate a capacity for independent study and self-directed inquiry and research; reflect upon research methodologies; analyse and integrate existing literatures to a research report; and
- undertake and present a clear and coherent research project.
