Biography

Abbas Valadkhani is an Adjunct Professor of Macroeconomics within the UNE Business School. He graduated from the University of Queensland in 1997 and held full-time permanent positions at the University of Newcastle, Queensland University of Technology and the University of Wollongong. Professor Valadkhani currently holds a chair in economics at the Swinburne university of Technology. His recent research interests lie in Australian macroeconomic policy issues, petrol pricing, applied econometrics and asymmetric pricing behaviour of Australian bank and non-bank financial institutions in the retail lending market. He has published more than 75 refereed articles in prestigious journals such as Applied Economics; Economics Letters; Economic Modelling; Economic Record; Energy Economics; Journal of Industrial Relations, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money; and Tourism Analysis. He has reviewed many articles for more than 20 A and A* journals including Journal of Development Economics, Annals of Operations Research, Applied Economics, Economic Modelling, Economic Record, Energy Economics and Energy Journal. He is currently on the editorial (advisory) board of four ERA ranked journals.
