TeamViewer (Remote Support)
What is TeamViewer?
TeamViewer is a remote access, remote control and remote support solution. If you are calling for assistance, TeamViewer can be used to share your screen with IT or Student Journey staff, and if you are comfortable with it, the staff can remotely control your device.
TeamViewer on UNE devices
If you are a staff member or HDR student with a UNE computer, TeamViewer QuickSupport (QS) will already be installed on your device. Search your desktop for the TeamViewer icon, or search your list of applications.
TeamViewer on personal devices
To download the TeamViewer QuickSupport client, click on the Download TeamViewer button below. You may need to check your browser has not blocked the download, so keep an eye out for warnings. Alternatively, go to https://get.teamviewer.com/une_qs
Using TeamViewer
To open, double-click on the Desktop shortcut, read and accept the EULA and DPA, accept the privacy disclaimer, and TeamViewer will open. Once ready, you will be able to provide the UNE staff member with the ID and password that is generated on the screen.
Ensure that you have closed anything that may have sensitive information before starting the session, as the UNE staff member will be able to see your screen.
Once the support session has concluded, you can close TeamViewerQS. You can delete it if you prefer, or move the executable to a spot that you can easily find for future support sessions.
UNE Devices Only: If administrator actions are required, IT Support staff will not need you to provide the password, and will instead authenticate with a temporary admin password.
