Parking at UNE

Restricted Parking operates at UNE 24 hours a day, all year round. Pay parking operates as indicated on the parking signs Monday-Friday excluding weekends and public holidays.

Any person who brings a vehicle onto campus must apply for the appropriate parking permit or abide by the permissive parking signage.

Changes to Parking Permits

Parking permits sold by UNE are now virtual. This means staff, students & visitors are no longer issued with a physical permit (except for Pink Permits) nor is a physical permit (except Pink Permits) required to be displayed on your vehicles windscreen.

What happens now is that your virtual parking permit is linked to your vehicles registration number. Enforcement of the UNE Parking Policy & Parking Procedures is carried out by our enforcement officers by electronically checking registration numbers in our system in real time to see if a valid parking permit is linked to that vehicle.

You can have as many vehicles registered on your account as you like however only 1 x vehicle registration can be linked to your permit at any one time. It is your responsibility to ensure that the vehicle you bring onto campus is linked to your virtual permit. Changing the registration from vehicle to vehicle is easy & can be done from within your parking account.

Longer term Permits (30 days to 12 months) are available for purchase from your parking account. Shorter term permits (1 hour to 7 days) are available from our parking machines located on the Armidale Campus and the Strada mobile parking app.

As mentioned, to purchase a longer term permit (30 days to 12 months) you will need to create a user account in the parking system. Once an account has been created then its a simple process to apply & pay for your virtual Permit. Your user account requires a unique email address & password. At the moment this email & password are not linked to the University's single sign on but down the track we hope to have this linked.

You do not need an account to purchase short term parking from a parking machine. Simply follow the steps to select the duration of time required & link this to you vehicles registration & your done. Simple as that.

Please note that new (longer term) permits become valid immediately they are paid. Unless you are renewing a previous permit, where the start date of the new permit commences immediately after the old one expires.

For shorter term parking (1 hour to 7 days) an app called Strada is available for download onto your phone. More information about the Strada parking app can be found on the Strada Miobile web site or by visiting the UNE Visitor Parking web page.

Only Pink Permits issued by the Booloominbah Collection will be in a physical form. More information about parking in the Booloominbah car can be obtained on the Booloominbah Parking Web Page.

See Parking FAQs for further information.

Alternative Transport

Students and staff are urged to consider alternatives, such as public transport and car pooling, and greater use of bicycles to take advantage of the cycleways servicing the University. It is in the interests of all members of the University community, and the development and maintenance of the bushland setting of the campus, to reduce the number of private vehicles traveling to the site, as well as assisting with the broader issues of air pollution, traffic congestion and the like.
