2026 National Student Safety Survey
The 2026 National Student Safety Survey will run from 31 August 2026 until 12 October 2026. The survey is Australia’s largest, sector-wide survey of university students’ experiences of safety, sexual violence or harm. It provides the robust, national evidence needed to strengthen prevention, improve support and drive coordinated action across the university sector.
UNE is supportive of the survey, and is committed to creating a university where we can safely live, work, learn and socialise, free from all forms of sexual violence and harm, including online.
Promoting a safe, respectful UNE community for work, study, living and socialising.
Safe Communities drives and enhances the UNE whole of organisation work to prevent, intervene and respond to sexual harm, gender-based violence, and any inappropriate disrespectful behaviour. Safe communities assists in preventing psychosocial risk, embedding respect at work, and promoting staff and student wellbeing, while continuing to foster a collaborative approach, through active engagement with all the members of the UNE community. Safe Communities also oversees the UNE working with children and young people (under 18) safety framework.
