IT Info for HDR Students
If you are starting out on your research journey with UNE, welcome! Staff at UNE are here to help, and if you have any questions, feel free to contact IT Support:
IT Account
Before you get a UNE username set up for you, you are required to complete your HDR Enrolment Form. Once the Graduate Research School have processed the form, you will get an email to your personal email address welcoming you to UNE, advising you of your UNE username and inviting you to set a password. Please ensure that your password meets the requirements of the Password Policy.
Once you have set your password, you will be able to access your UNE email (in the format of username@myune.edu.au) - this will be active for the duration of your research.
IT Equipment
HDR students may be provided with standard computing equipment by Technology and Digital Services (TDS). Equipment is assigned to the individual; it will be your responsibility to ensure that the equipment is looked after and accounted for. The equipment is provided to you for the duration of your candidature, and must be returned to TDS at the end of your candidature.
For more information, please refer to Standard Equipment Requests – Higher Degree by Research (HDR).
Research Data Storage
Research data at UNE must be stored in the dedicated research data platform, in adherence to the Research Data Management Policy.
The official storage solution for research data is Cloud.UNE. For more information, see Research Data Storage.
Research Tools and Training
UNE has a training partner, Intersect Australia. For a list of upcoming training sessions, as well as a list of software available targeted towards HDR students, please see Research Tools and Training.
