- The Bachelor of Special Education (Primary)/Bachelor of Disability Studies has been renamed Bachelor of Special and Inclusive Education (Primary)
- From 2018, all initial teacher education students must pass the National Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students prior to their final professional placement; students must also pass a Teaching Performance Assessment (TPA) during the final professional experience placement.
Core Units: - EDME258 has been deleted
- EDPE247 title changed to Teaching Physical Education in Primary Schools
- EDPE346 title changed to Teaching health Education in Primary Schools
- EDSE312 title changed to Primary Environmental Science and Technology for Sustainability
| Note unit and unit title changes Students who have not completed EDME258 must complete EDME358. Due to the number and nature of changes it is impracticable for students under 2017 and previous rules to transfer to 2018 rules. These students will be “taught out” under their current rules. Accordingly, the updates included here are based on the 2017 rules, and all updates will be treated as a teach-out course. |

Transition information is outlined below. - Students who have completed EDCX246, EDIT424 and PREX901 will receive exemption from EDUC104 (the credit points from EDCX246 will in count in lieu) and advanced standing for EDIT100.
- Students who have completed EDLT400 and PREX902 or PREX903 will be granted advanced standing for EDLT302
- Students who have completed EDCX400 and PREX902 or PREX903 will be granted advanced standing for EDCX402
- Students who have completed both EDSP452 and PREX906 (20 days) will be granted advanced standing for EDSP452 in the 2013 rules
- Students who have completed both EDSP453 and PREX907 (25 days) will be granted advanced standing for EDSP453 in the 2013 rules
- Students who have completed both EDME145 and EDME931 will be granted advanced standing for EDME258 and EDME369
- If only EDME145 has been completed - no advanced standing will be granted - students must complete both EDME258 and EDME369
- Note: Any PREX unit can only be counted once.
