Advanced Standing: Rule A: Maximum Advanced Standing increased to 30 credit points Rule B: Block Admission Credit decreased to 18 credit points Students are now permitted to apply for credit for Non-formal Learning in relation to the fieldwork unit HSSW310 BSW Fieldwork 1 for work undertaken while enrolled in the course HSSW411 BSW fieldwork 2 is now not permitted to be granted as advanced standing. Updates to Unit Learning Outcomes (see individual units in the handbook for updates) Australian Social Work Education and Accreditation Standards (ASWEAS) requirements: All students, including those enrolled online, are now required to participate in on-campus learning for a minimum of 20 days/150hrs over the duration of the course. This requirement is met via attendance at the mandatory intensive schools associated with some of the core units for online students and/or via face-to-face mandatory classes throughout the trimester for on campus students. | Students wishing to complete HSHM341 will need to select another unit from the listed units. |

There have been major changes to the Bachelor of Social Work in 2018. The Practical, Clinical or Work Experience requirements have been updated. Program of Study - Rule (a) For a complete listing of units see Bachelor of Social Work Rule (a) Program of Study Specified Advanced Standing (30 cps) has been added Core Units: 138-150 cps Listed Units: 0-12 cps OR Honours Units 0-24 cps Program of Study - Rule (b) Core Units: Credit points have changed from 168-174 cps to 168-180 cps

| All students are to be moved to 2018 course rules. An analysis of each student's individual course progression will be completed to enable students to smoothly progress to graduation. Each student will be provided with a suggested course progression plan and their Period of Candidature will re-start. Transition tables will be provided and the School will develop individual stud plans for students who need this. Note changes to the Practical, Clinical or Work Experience requirements. As has always been the case, students will complete 1000 hours of field placement over the duration of their course, although this was previously done in a 450/550 split but will now be a 500/500 hour arrangement. Students who have completed pre-2018 placement units will be identified and advised by the School of a 50 hour variation in their final placement - if required. Students who need to complete 550 hours in HSSW411 will also have a note put on their transcript indicating they completed 550 hours in this unit in order to meet 1000 hours field placement requirements.
