The Bachelor of Education (Secondary Music) is no longer offered. A suggested alternative course is the Bachelor of Education (Secondary Arts).

Students in 2015-2017 rules who have not completed:

EDCX302 must complete EDCX313 AND PREX304 (zero cps) – these two replacement units do not have to be completed in the same Trimester of study

Students in 2018-2022 rules who have not completed:

EDCX302 must complete EDCX313 AND PREX304 (zero cps) – these two replacement units do not have to be completed in the same Trimester of study

EDSP300 must complete EDSP412

EDIT101 must complete EDIT124 AND PREX201 (zero cps) – these two replacement units do not have to be completed in the same Trimester of study

Admission Rules - Transferring students

A clarification of admission rules relating to students transferring from one award to another has been added. This clarification of the admission requirements, will avoid any issues of students being able to use their initial method of application to UNE as the basis for admission, when their latest studies are not meeting the admission requirements.

Progression Requirements & Exit Pathways

Students unable to pass the mandatory requirements of LANTITE clauses have been added to all ITE awards for 2021 to indicate that students unable to pass LANTITE will be transferred to a non-teaching award.  This is commensurate with the GTPA requirement which is already present.

Course Rules: The Course Requirements have been changed, at point number 4 about Second Teaching areas to reflect the title change of the Information Processes and Technology and Software Design and Development areas, the addition of Modern History and to accommodate the changes to the composition of a Languages Second Teaching area.

Important Notes for Group 5:

  • A new part of the note has been placed at the top of this Group to reflect that for Languages the 24 credit points must be comprised of 12 credits points at 200 level and 12 credit points at 300 level (as was reflected in the course requirements section of the Rules).

Drama - Group 5 – Additional Teaching Area:

Languages – Group 5 – Additional Teaching Area:

  • Changes by NESA from 2019 to the Subject Content Knowledge Requirements have resulted in changes to the Program of Study in Languages. NESA Subject Content Knowledge Requirements for Languages specify that units contributing to a Language must be completed at post-introductory level of study i.e. at 200 level and above. A note to this effect is inserted into the program of study.
  • A note has also been added to confirm applicants completed 24 credit points in ONE language – and the 4 units to be studied in each language are then specified in the program.
  • Chinese: CHIN101, CHIN102 CHIN310 and CHIN320 removed.
  • French: FREN101, FREN102, FREN303 and FREN304 removed
