Admission to Candidature:

There has been a document developed during 2018 to support applicants applying for the MAAL which takes then through their relevant qualification and work experience etc where applicable.

Advanced Standing: changes have been made to the advanced standing provision relating to those student who have complete the CALTA certificate.

Program of Study - Rule (a), (b) and (c) TESOL Major and General Program

  • LING565 removed from the Core Units and placed in its own listed section.*
  • LING569 removed as an option from the Core Units and placed into its own listed units section.*
  • Credit point adjustment/s have been made to reflect the two units above moving from Core to listed so that:
    • Core units now total 30 cps (not 36) and there are two section of listed units where the Choice between LING565 and LING569 reflect a total of 6 credit points.

* LING565 and LING569 moved from the Core unit section to the listed: This change was intended to simplify the program of study. LING565 and LING569 have been offered as core alternatives such that only one of them had to be included in the degree. Therefore, neither was considered core in its own right. By placing them in their own “Listed unit” category from which 6 out of 12 cps have to be completed, the same outcome is achieved in a more straightforward manner.

Note changes to Advanced Standing for those who hold the CELTA certificate.

Current students will be able to complete under current rules and may enrol in the new units if they wish or transfer subject to meeting new course requirements.
