We often think of air pollution as a respiratory issue, but the reality extends far beyond the lungs.
To explore this, the UNE School of Science and Technology is inviting the community to an upcoming research symposium, Beyond Breathing: Environmental Threats, Systemic Impacts and Translational Solutions, as part of the SABL Visiting Fellowship Scheme.
From the link between air pollution and brain health to the long-term impacts of microplastic inhalation, the symposium offers a front-row seat to the latest scientific discoveries in this space.
While we often focus on the immediate effects of air quality on our lungs, having researchers of this calibre visit UNE allows us to explore the deeper, systemic impacts that are only now being uncovered.
The event will feature leading experts from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and Western Sydney University (WSU), including Distinguished Professor Brian Oliver, Professor Kamal Dua, Professor Hui Chen, and Dr Keshav Raj Paudel.
