UNE retained its five star rating for overall student experience for an unprecedented 15th year in a row and ranks first in this category in New South Wales.
Vice-Chancellor and CEO, Professor Brigid Heywood said the result, which placed UNE third nationally, is an unequivocal and rewarding endorsement by students.
“Providing high quality education to those who seek to improve and advance their lives is what UNE was created for and it is an activity where we aim to excel. Delivering a high-quality student experience has and always will be a mainstay of the UNE learning and teaching paradigm,” Prof. Heywood said.
“This result is outstanding and it is all the more gratifying as over 80% of our students study online.”
UNE’s results at postgraduate level was outstanding with the university ranked best in Australia for Overall Student Experience and Teaching Quality at that level.
The university was also award the top ranking of five stars in other significant categories such as Student Support, Teaching Quality and, for the first time, Learner Engagement.
“We regularly review our teaching and learning practices to ensure our offerings remain relevant and functional, and that our systems and processes are fit for purpose and conducive to building strong relationships with our students,” Prof. Heywood said.
“I’m pleased to see our endeavours reflected in these results.”
UNE again scored five stars in two other important metrics: full employment rates and annual median starting salaries, which increased from $64,700 to $66,800 this year.
“Our consistently good results in these categories across a number of fields of studies are heartening,” Prof. Heywood said. “Our Pharmacy graduates boast a 100% full-time employment rate followed by our social work students at 94%!”
UNE also received a five-star rating for First Generation, a category that shows the proportion of first-in-family students to attend university. The result demonstrates an adherence to UNE’s core values of access and inclusiveness.
