Dear [Name],
I know you have been busy and probably not had time to vote in the UNE Council elections yet. So, I am sending a quick reminder that voting closes [today or tomorrow] at 5pm and I’d love your vote 😊.
Voting won’t take you more than a couple of minutes. Just a few clicks and you’ll be done.

Subject: Christina Kenny for UNE Council
Dear [Colleague or name of colleague]
I'm Christina Kenny (Sociology, HASS) and I would appreciate your vote the academic representative on UNE Council this election.
I have lived and worked in Armidale and at UNE for over 10 years and have committed myself to the significant efforts underway to build safer, more equitable and inclusive working and studying environments.
I have been speaking up and making change in the pursuit of transparent governance, equity and inclusion for as long as I've been at UNE. The Council needs an academic advocate who can consult and build momentum around important issues, and understand and participate in decision making that involves complex legislative and policy change.
Much of the academic work that sustains UNE, and builds our reputation as a student focused institution is an extension of our core functions - our flexible and accessible teaching and significant research contribution are the foundations of UNE's identity and I am keen to make our commitment to our students and our colleagues visible to, and valued by Council.
I have been working at the highest levels of governance for several years now, and would welcome the opportunity to represent you in this important forum. You can vote through the link you have received 30 June from UNE Council Elections.
I'm keen to hear from you what matters about university governance, and issues that you feel are affecting academic staff.
All best,
Christina

Subject: Coast needs your vote today
Dear [Name]
I have nominated again for the Academic Staff Representative on UNE Council and voting for this just opened. You will have just received an email from BigPulse in your inbox to vote in the UNE Council elections.
[Name], I am asking you directly to please vote for me today as your next Academic Staff Representative on Council. I would not ask if I did not believe it mattered and that UNE needs a trusted academic voice on Council right now.
I have spent two years on Council and learnt how it works. I am dead set on working even harder over the next two years for everyone at UNE. There is important work still to do on staff and student welfare, research culture, financial sustainability, and closing the gap between academics and university leadership (Council included). Right now, the Chancellor recruitment is imminent. That decision will shape UNE for years to come, and I want to make sure it is done in the true interest of this university.
It only takes a couple of minutes to vote. Just click on the link in the email, scroll to my name, select it and submit your vote.
Feel free to call or text me anytime on 04XX XXX XXX.

UNE is not alone in experiencing an extended period of complex and existential challenge, but it is imperative that the Council, academic and professional staff build our own path through this together. I have been involved in university governance for many years including on Academic Board, Chair for the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee, and co-founder and Chair of the Ally Network.
In addition to my legal training, I offer robust and critically engaged discussion, attention to critical detail and a collaborative approach to solving problems. Please reach out if you'd like to discuss my candidature; if elected, I am committed to facilitating open conversations about council matters, contributing to a culture of openness and shared purpose.
