Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:

1. develop and apply skills to assess cardiovascular and respiratory system health conditions in order to plan and implement safe person-centred nursing care across the life span;
2. implement and evaluate evidence-based clinical reasoning and the application of the NMBA Registered nurse standards for practice during professional education practice (PEP) to develop and consolidate skills in nursing practice, including recognising and responding to patient deterioration across diverse health contexts;
3. integrate and apply principles of reflective practice, effective communication, and ethical and legal practice within a team approach to person-centered care;
4. apply the principles of medication safety to administer Intravenous medication and fluids, demonstrating patient assessment, documentation and reporting requirements utilising digital technologies; and
5. integrate person-centred, preventative and health promotion strategies to cardiovascular and respiratory conditions.
