Unit information
This unit focuses on comprehensive care for individuals with conditions across the renal and endocrine systems. You will explore patient assessment, care plan development, and delivery of care, learning to create care goals in conjunction with holistic, person-centred, evidence-based care.
Throughout this unit, you will apply your clinical reasoning, critical thinking and risk identification skills, reinforcing your understanding of the iterative process of evaluation, review, and reflection to enhance healthcare practices.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- analyse and evaluate comprehensive assessment of the renal and endocrine systems to determine factors that affect health and wellbeing;
- identify and prioritise goals, mitigate risk and plan nursing care with a person-centred approach across culturally diverse populations;
- identify comprehensive care interventions facilitating interprofessional collaboration and resources to deliver person-centred holistic care and integrate health prevention and promotion strategies;
- evaluate and modify the comprehensive care plan and delivery, in response to changes in the patient's health and social determinants and their circumstances; and
- integrate and apply principles of evaluation of care, effective communication, digital health, and ethical and legal practice within a team approach to person-centred comprehensive nursing care.
