Unit information
Using your previously acquired knowledge, in this unit you will deliver a major cybersecurity project, or an IT project with a significant cybersecurity component.
Your project will be carefully designed in collaboration with industry partners, community organisations or academic research groups to reflect real-life scenarios so that you can enhance your problem-solving ability and practice ethical conduct and social responsibility.
Where practical, projects may be conducted in groups, giving you an opportunity to expand your communication and teamwork skills. All projects will include a research component where you will further develop your ability to independently acquire new information and equip yourself for lifelong learning.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- apply previously acquired knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity concepts and methods, and conduct independent research to design solutions to cybersecurity problems;
- apply knowledge of cybersecurity project and risk management, and industry standards to complete a major project;
- demonstrate independent judgement, ethical conduct and social responsibility; and
- work independently and/or in a team to produce industry-standard documentation and deliver oral presentations to communicate solutions to specialist and non-specialist audience.
