Unit information
This unit completes the Social Work in Practice series, consolidating what you have learned in MSW(Q) to date.
During the face-to-face, mandatory intensive school, you will explore practise skills relevant to key intervention models and apply them in practise through simulated learning. You will also engage further in critical reflection with fellow students on your experience of the appropriateness of applying models in practice situations with various client groups.
This unit will also continue to build your skills in reinforcing communication, teamwork, problem-solving, critical-thinking and reflexivity skills within a social work context.

HSSW510B and HSSW655 need to be taken in the same trimester as per the course plans.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- demonstrate a critical understanding of the application of theoretical models within interpersonal practice contexts.
- demonstrate the skills required in interventions in social work for effectively intervening in practice; and
- engage in critical self-reflection on your social work practice skills by identifying your strengths and areas for improvement.
