Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:

1. demonstrate knowledge of, and the ability to apply, models of pedagogy to develop a range of strategies for teaching and assessing Agriculture in Years 11–12 (GTSD 1.6.1, 2.1.1, 2.5.1, 3.1.1, 3.3.1);
2. demonstrate the ability to apply understandings of the aims, outcomes, content and requirements of the Agriculture Years 11–12 Syllabus to lessons, lesson sequences and programmes (GTSD 2.2.1, 2.3.1, 3.2.1);
3. critically select appropriate resources and present the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of learners in Agriculture Years 11–12 (GTSD 1.2.1, 1.3.1, 1.4.1, 1.5.1, 2.6.1, 3.1.1, 3.3.1, 3.4.1,);
4. select appropriate assessment for learning strategies and to use the results for student feedback and reporting as well as lesson and programme evaluations with specific application to the HSC or equivalent (GTSD, 3.1.1, 3.6.1, 5.1.1); and
5. demonstrate knowledge and understanding of management practices for laboratory and school farm activities in Agriculture Years 11–12, including safety and risk management, budgeting, selecting, storing, maintaining and replacing materials and equipment (GTSD 4.4.1, 7.4.1).
