Digital Literacy and Technologies Across the Curriculum (EDIT124)

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:

1. demonstrate knowledge and understanding of research and apply theoretical concepts into how students learn and the implications for teaching (GTSD 1.2.1);
2. analyse, plan, design, implement and evaluate teaching strategies for using Digital Literacy and Technologies to expand curriculum learning opportunities for students including the use of ICT in the provision of timely and appropriate feedback to students about their learning (GTSD 2.6.1, 3.6.1, 5.2.1);
3. demonstrate knowledge of a range of resources, including Digital Literacy and Technologies, that engage students in their learning and support teacher professional learning (GTSD 3.4.1, 6.2.1, 6.4.1);
4. demonstrate an understanding of Digital Literacy and Technologies-based assessment strategies including informal and formal, diagnostic, formative and summative approaches to assess student learning (GTSD 5.1.1);
5. demonstrate an understanding of the role ICT plays in reporting to students and parents/caregivers and in the keeping of accurate and reliable records of student achievement (GTSD 5.5.1, 7.3.1); and
6. demonstrate an understanding of school and legislative requirements including knowledge of the Disability Standards for Education to support the safe, responsible and ethical use of Digital Literacy and Technologies in the maintenance of student well-being and safety (GTSD 1.6.1, 4.4.1, 4.5.1, 7.1.1).
