This is a highly applied unit of study requiring significant individual work. One 2-hour class per week is held, for which reading and other preparation are required. The class entails structured discussion within which evidence based propositions are debated and analytic approaches and results are discussed. Case studies addressed are real-life narratives of agribusiness firms facing problems and opportunities for which students will advocate beneficial change.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- integrate and critically evaluate advanced agribusiness concepts and issues, drawing on current research, theory, and industry developments;
- select, adapt, and rigorously appraise advanced analytic tools to assess and interpret the performance of agribusiness firms and industries in diverse contexts;
- synthesise and critically interrogate complex agribusiness-related problems, generating innovative solutions through advanced reasoning and interdisciplinary analysis;
- formulate, justify, and advocate for evidence-based, strategic recommendations for transformative change within agribusiness firms and the broader industry; and
- communicate complex theoretical and technical knowledge persuasively to specialist and non-specialist audiences, using advanced written, oral, and digital formats, and substantiating arguments with high-level evidence.
