Unit information

In this unit you will examine the major themes in the field of Indigenous enterprise and development. A focus is placed on contemporary international Indigenous business and community development. The unit will highlight the interrelationship between politics, culture and agency.
By studying this unit you will further develop and expand your understanding of the importance of empowerment in Indigenous communities.
You will evaluate the mechanisms that influence the relationship between politics, culture and voice inherent to Indigenous enterprise.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- demonstrate an advanced body of knowledge on issues that influence Indigenous enterprise;
- present a deep, coherent and independent exposition of concepts and issues associated with Indigenous business and community development;
- display critical thinking skills so as to autonomously evaluate and apply information and ideas from the literature on Indigenous business and community development; and
- autonomously and with expert judgement evaluate the relationship between politics, culture and voice inherent in Indigenous enterprise.
