Bursary Award Terms and Conditions

This UNE International Bursary is offered under the following terms and conditions. If you are granted this bursary, you are agreeing to all of these terms and conditions.

  1. UNE International Bursaries are available for international students commencing coursework studies at UNE in 2023. Students transferring to a course within the same or similar discipline (for example, from Environmental Science to Agricultural Science) will not be considered as “commencing” and are therefore not eligible for a UNE international Bursary.
  2. Applying for admission to UNE does not guarantee you will be awarded a UNE International Bursary.
  3. The maximum duration of the UNE International Bursary is the normal duration (in academic years) of the course you have been offered the bursary for. If you take longer to complete your course due to academic failure, you will only receive the bursary for the minimum total number of UNE units required to normally successfully complete the course.
  4. You are not eligible for the UNE International Bursary if, at the time of admission or at any time during your studies, you are financially sponsored by any of the following organisations:
    1. Your Home Government
    2. Any other Foreign Government
    3. Any Australian Government programs such as Australia Awards (AA) or Destination Australia Program (DAP)
    4. Your Home University
    5. Your Employer
    6. Any international organisations such as the World Bank
  5. The UNE International Bursary covers a reduction in the published annual tuition fees for international students. It does not cover:
    1. Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
    2. Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)
    3. Enrolment Fees (if applicable)
    4. Accommodation Fees
    5. Course equipment, uniforms, textbooks
    6. Visa and travel costs
  6. The UNE International Bursary will not be paid to you in cash. When you accept the bursary (if you meet all terms and conditions) it will be applied to your student account at UNE.
  7. If you are awarded a UNE International Bursary and decide to withdraw and/or transfer from UNE (whether to return home or to another provider), you forfeit the bursary. You will not receive any refund of the Bursary component of your tuition fees.
  8. The UNE International Bursary is not transferrable to another person and cannot be deferred until a later date unless agreed to by UNE International.
  9. You must adhere to all of UNE’s policies and procedures relating to student and academic conduct. Failure to do so may result in the bursary being withdrawn.
  10. UNE’s decision to award or not award an International Bursary is final and no appeal will be entered into.

If you would like to discuss any aspects of your bursary, please contact our international admissions team.
