Bursary Award Terms and Conditions

This UNE International Bursary is offered to you under the following terms and conditions. By accepting this bursary, you are agreeing to all of these terms and conditions.

  1. An International Bursary is available to you if you are a full-time international student commencing coursework studies at UNE in 2025 for the first time. If you are transferring from one UNE course into another, you are not considered as a “commencing” student, and are therefore not eligible for a UNE International Bursary.
  2. Applying for admission to UNE does not guarantee you will be awarded a UNE International Bursary.
  3. The UNE International Bursary is guaranteed for your first year of coursework study. For subsequent years, you will need to achieve a minimum GPA of 4.5 on a 7.0 scale at the end of each academic year to be eligible to receive a bursary the next year.
  4. You are not eligible for the UNE International Bursary if, at the time of admission or at any time during your studies, you are financially sponsored by any of the following organisations:
    1. Your Home Government;
    2. Any other Foreign Government;
    3. Any Australian Government programs such as Australia Awards (AA);
    4. Your Home University;
    5. Your Employer; or
    6. Any international organisations such as the World Bank.
  5. The UNE International Bursary covers a reduction in the published annual tuition fees for international students. It does not cover:
    1. Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
    2. Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)
    3. Enrolment Fees (if applicable)
    4. Accommodation Fees
    5. Course equipment, uniforms, textbooks
    6. Visa and travel costs
  6. The UNE International Bursary will not be paid to you in cash. When you accept the bursary (if you meet all terms and conditions) it will be applied to your student account at UNE for your first year of study only.
  7. If you are awarded an UNE International Bursary and decide to withdraw and/or transfer from UNE (whether to return home or to another provider), you forfeit the bursary. You will not receive any refund of the Bursary component of your tuition fees.
  8. The UNE International Bursary is not transferrable to another person and cannot be deferred until a later date.
  9. You must adhere to all of UNE’s policies and procedures relating to student and academic conduct. Failure to do so, may result in the bursary being withdrawn.
  10. UNE’s decision to award or not award an International Bursary is final and no appeal will be entered into.

If you would like to discuss any aspects of your bursary, please contact our international admissions team.
