Ljiljana Brankovic

Biography

Ljiljana is a Professor in Computation Science at the School of Science and Technology, UNE. She obtained her Graduate Electrical Engineer degree from the University of Belgrade, Serbia and her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Newcastle, NSW. Her research interests include cybersecurity and privacy, algorithms, graph theory and privacy preserving machine learning.

Ljiljana’s long term research into privacy focuses on technological aspects but also explores an interplay between technology and ethical, legal and psychological aspect of privacy. In the area of algorithms, Ljiljana is focusing on designing parameterised approximation algorithms for computationally hard problems.

Ljiljana received over 1.5 mil research funding from Australian and European funding bodies, including Australian Research Council, German Research Foundation, London Mathematical Society and Royal Society, UK.
