Biography

Dr Kylie Rice is the A/Associate Dean Research: Faculty of Medicine and Health, and is a leading healthcare educator, practitioner and researcher.


Kylie is an Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology, and the Academic Lead for Pedagogical Research for the Faculty of Medicine and Health at UNE. In addition, Kylie is the HDR Co-Ordinator for the School of Psychology, and the Course Co-Ordinator for the PhD Clinical Psychology.


Kylie is an innovator in teaching, research and leadership. She teaches in professional and clinical psychology, an was awarded an Australian Award for University Teaching in May 2024, and for leading the development of Australia’s first simulated placment in professional psychology. Kylie is also the lead developer the Competencies of Professional Psychology Rating scale (COPPR; Rice et al., 2022, 2025).

Research Interests

In research, Kylie specialises in pedagogical research, the assessment and development of healthcare practitioner competencies, rural health, wellbeing, mental health, Clinical Psychology and environmental psychology. Kylie is an experienced, skilled and supportive HDR supervisor.
