Biography
Daiva is UNE alumna, and spent over a decade working for NSW HEALTH, initially as a clinical psychologist with MH services and then as a specialist, Senior Clinical Psychologist in a Bushfire Recovery Clinician (BRC) role. While Daiva's primary clinical practice setting has been rural, Daiva also has clinical experience in metropolitan clinical settings such as RNSH in Sydney. Daiva's clinical expertise includes assessment and treatment of complex, comorbid and refractory to treatment presentations including complex trauma. Daiva's treatment modalities include DBT, recent training in emotion-focused therapy and Conversational Model, as well as utilisation of positive psychology framework, focus on post-traumatic growth, plasticity and transformative power of therapy. Daiva's primary research focus is consciousness, with a current research program centering on developing novel and innovative ways to measure consciousness, as well as consciousness theory construction.
