Alex McCord

Biography

Dr Alex McCord is a Clinical Psychologist, researcher and lecturer as well as a PsyBA-approved supervisor. She is an alumna of UNE (honours, post-graduate and PhD) and City University of New York. She divides her time between clinical practice in the Northern Rivers of NSW and academia. Alex is an ANZAED credentialed eating disorder clinician and holds APS practice certificates in disaster response and services for older adults. Alex was named the 2025 NNSW-LHD Allied Health Researcher of the Year, received the 2024 Peter Beumont Early Career Researcher award and the 2019 APS Elsie Harwood Award. Alex's research interests include disordered eating, older adults, psychosis syndromes and neurodiversity.
