Biography

Meredith Kellahan is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Health at the University of New England, where she teaches and coordinates the School's interprofessional units, spanning interprofessional practice, interprofessional communication, and digital technology across health and social services.
Her background is multidisciplinary: a Bachelor of Nursing (Griffith University), a Master of Mental Health Practice (University of Queensland), and a Bachelor of Psychological Science and Diploma of Counselling (Charles Darwin University). She has practised in forensic mental health and, with a non-government organisation, in immigration detention facilities - settings where interprofessional collaboration and clear communication are daily necessities rather than abstractions.
Meredith has developed and refined the school’s interprofessional communication curriculum. She is committed to online learning as a means of widening access to higher education and is a persistent advocate for digital interventions that make teaching and learning genuinely engaging for students.
Her interests centre on pedagogy: how interprofessional practice is taught in higher education, and how digital technology in health and social services is brought into the curriculum. She is particularly drawn to communication within healthcare teams and to breaking down siloed thinking in healthcare wherever possible.
