Dr Lukas Carey

Biography

Dr Lukas Carey is an academic, researcher and practitioner with expertise in Community Services, Education, criminology, criminal justice, and social policy.

Dr Carey has a particular interest and focusses on Case Management, Lived Experience, justice reform, rehabilitation and reintegration, social impact, and education in custodial and post-release contexts.

Dr Carey’s professional background spans teaching, research, policy, and applied practice, with extensive experience working alongside justice-involved individuals, community organisations, and government and non-government stakeholders. His work as a teacher, School Principal, work in Not for Profit and charities along with a long academic background is informed by a strong commitment to evidence-based practice, social equity, and outcome-focused reform, and is grounded in real-world engagement within the Australian and International academic, justice and educational settings.
