Biography
Apsara is a passionate Registered Nurse and Nursing Lecturer at UNE with over 15 years of diverse nursing experience. She has extensively worked in medical, surgical, and community nursing. She also has a year of experience in antenatal, childbirth, and postnatal care in midwifery clinical placement. Her diverse role also includes working as a Health and Nutrition officer as well as a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Officer focusing on the resumption of basic health services and preventative health care (hygiene, early detection of outbreaks, and risk of communication) in Nepal Earthquake Disaster Response Humanitarian Project in collaboration with Save the Children during 2015 Earthquake Disaster in Nepal.
In Australia, she has worked as a Registered Nurse in the Aboriginal Health Service providing high-quality nursing care with holistic approach and advocating for the health and well-being of “First Nation People”. Apsara has a wealth of clinical and academic experience in Nepal, the United Kingdom, and Australia. She has strong track record in teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programs and finds personal satisfaction in helping students understand complex concepts and develop the nursing skills to become dedicated, competent, and compassionate nurses at UNE since 2018. She is deeply committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within nursing education and the nursing profession.

- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (Hospital Nursing)- Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine, Nepal - 2014

Teaching Areas
Apsara’s commitment to teaching and learning is evident in the academic experience of teaching 20 different nursing units from the first year to the third year including HLTH units- Communication for Health Professionals (HLTH103), and Interprofessional Practice in Health and Social Care (HLTH102).
