Biography

Kara Tighe (B. Ag Econ., Ph.D.) is an Agricultural Economist teaching farm and resource management and consulting skills across Environmental and Rural Science courses an UNE. Kara previously worked at Meat and Livestock Australia and was awarded a Sheep CRC scholarship to complete her Ph.D., in which she researched Australian consumer demand and behaviour for meat products and the impacts of behaviour modifiers. She is interested in the economics and environmental sustainability of local scale production and consumption cycles.
