Biography

Dr Andy Clark joined the Applied Agricultural Remote Sensing Centre as a Senior Research Fellow in 2021 and brings 15 years of professional experience in the application of earth observation data across multiple projects within state government and the commercial sector.

During this time Andy has worked on a range of applications including the mapping and monitoring of woodlands, riparian vegetation and a land use. He has a particular research interest in applying deep learning techniques to earth observation data for automated classifications of landscape attributes, which has led him to commence a PhD in 2019.

Andy will be assisting the AARSC team across numerous mapping projects including the national mapping of horticulture tree crops; protected cropping systems; and hitchhiker pests to classify the location of shipping containers within urban/peri-urban environments.
