Background
The donor, a UNE Alumnus, wishes to recognise the influence and impact of the teaching of the late Professor John Louis Dillon on the lives of past UNE students.
John Dillon AO (1931-2001) was appointed Foundation Professor of Farm Management at UNE and he spent the remainder of his academic career based in Armidale. John produced path-breaking advances in agricultural economics and farm management and was particularly prominent in the area of international development.

The scholarship is valued at $10,000 per annum and is available to a domestic or international student for up to two years in a postgraduate Master's degree (Research) or up to three years for a Doctoral degree undertaking research in Agricultural Economics or research regarding the business of agriculture at the University of New England.

How will the scholarship be paid?
The Scholarship payments will be made directly into the successful candidate's bank account in two equal instalments.

Eligibility and Assessment Criteria
The applicant must be either domestic or international and can be a new or continuing UNE student in their 1st, 2nd, 3rd year in a Doctor of Philosophy or Masters by Research studying on campus full-time. A preferred area of research in Agricultural Economics.
Applications will be assessed on academic merit, financial need and the statement of case.
