About the project:
Background
Frank Davidson was a student in the last intake to New England University College (NEUC), UNE’s predecessor institution. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts followed by a Diploma of Education, Master of Arts, and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1992. Frank spent the majority of his working life as a lecturer in English, including Speech and Drama, at the Sydney Teachers’ College.
Details
The scholarship is valued at $3,500.00 per annum paid in two instalments, and is available for up to three years for a doctoral degree. Candidates must be enrolled in a Doctoral degree and reside at Mary White College in the research area of Australian Literature or Australian Theatre.

Eligibility and Assessment Criteria
The applicant must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident as defined by the Commonwealth. Full-time preferred, though part-time may be considered.
Applicants must have a First Class Honours Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree from one of the following universities: University of New England; University of Sydney; University of Melbourne; University of Adelaide; University of Tasmania; University of Queensland; University of Western Australia; Australian National University.
The applicant must be completing research in the area of Australian Literature or Australian Theatre and reside at Mary White College.

- Outline of proposed/current PhD Research Project
- Copy of BA thesis and other research, published and unpublished
- The names of two confidential references, with at least one an academic staff member at UNE
