Notice of Intent (NOI) to submit a Grant Application
A Note on Major & Complex Schemes
Large-scale, competitive grants like those from the Australian Research Council (ARC) require months of strategic planning. They are not applications you can begin a few weeks out.
Following the release of the ARC NCGP Review Final Report in July 2026, the Grants team is closely tracking the transition to the new funding schemes.
We will outline specific UNE application processes as the ARC provides details. If you haven't already, please subscribe to our Research Services Mailing List for all critical updates.
To better support our researchers, Faculties, and Schools, the Grants team uses an online Notice of Intent (NOI) process for anyone intending to submit a research grant application.
If there is a scheme you are interested in, let us know early. The sooner we have your details, the more support we can offer.
We can:
- check eligibility requirements
- facilitate internal approvals
- assist with Pure applications
- offer compliance advice
To give us time to review the scheme guidelines and offer tailored submission advice, aim to have your NOI to us 15 working days before external submission deadline.
How to Submit a NOI
We have transitioned to a streamlined Microsoft Form. Please note:
- Access: This form is restricted to UNE staff. You may be prompted to sign in via UNE Single Sign-On (SSO) before accessing and completing it.
- Privacy: The information you provide is for internal use only. It allows Grants to track your submission timeline and ensures we can automatically flag relevant details with key internal support teams (e.g., Research Governance and Compliance or UNE Facilities).
