The determinants and effects of Australian agricultural productivity

The productivity of the Australian agricultural sector not only affects farmers' income, but also affects the food security, the competitiveness of Australian agricultural exports as well as the growth pattern of the national economy. This project pertains to uncover the determinants and effects of the agricultural productivity for Australia. Through a case study and farmers' survey, this project will collect data on factors affecting Australian agricultural productivity. By integrating an econometric model into a general equilibrium framework, this project will uncover the determinants of agricultural productivity, estimate their relative importance, and gauge their impact on the national economy.
