Terms & Conditions

  1. General
    1. This competition is being conducted by Future Students and Engagement, The University of New England ABN 75 792 454 315
    2. Information on how to enter and on prizes form part of the Terms and Conditions. Entry into this competition deems acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
    3. To the extent of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and any other reference to this competition, these Terms and Conditions prevail.
    4. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or to cancel or suspend this competition if an event beyond the control of the Promoter corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition.
    5. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who has tampered with the entry process or any other aspect of this competition.
    6. All entrants warrant that they have capacity to provide the consents contained in these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Who can enter?
    1. The UNE Open Day Stay Connected (Competition) is open to Australian residents with a valid Australian postal address.
    2. Employees of the University of New England are not eligible to enter.
    3. Entrants under 18 years of age must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to enter the Competition. By permitting an entrant under 18 years of age to enter, the parent or legal guardian agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions
  3. Promotion period
    1. The Competition opens at 8.00am AEST on Friday 1 May 2026 and closes at 11.59am AEST on Sunday 17 May 2026 (Promotion Period)
    2. Entries received outside the Promotion Period will not be accepted
  4. How to enter
    1. Entry is free.
    2. To enter, an eligible entrant must during the Promotion Period:

      B. agree to these Terms and Conditions
    3. Entry is limited to one entry per email address.
    4. Entries must be submitted online through the form referred to above. No other method of entry will be accepted.
    5. The Promoter is not responsible for any incomplete, illegible, late, lost, corrupted, misdirected or invalid entries
  5. Submission guidelines
    1. Each participant will only be entered once in the Competition.
    2. All details provided by the entrant must be true, complete and accurate.
    3. Any entry found to breach these Terms and Conditions will be deemed invalid.
    4. If a prize has already been awarded to an entrant whose entry is later found to be invalid or in breach of these Terms and Conditions, that prize must be returned to the Promoter on request.
    5. Without limiting any other rights, the Promoter reserves the right to take appropriate action, including legal action, against any person found to have breached these Terms and Conditions or engaged in unlawful or improper conduct that jeopardises the fair and proper conduct of the Competition.
  6. Draw
    1. This is a game of chance. Skill plays no part in determining the winners.
    2. Three winners will be selected at random from all valid entries received during the Promotion Period.
    3. The draw will take place at 2.00pm AEST on Wednesday 20 May 2026 at the University of New England campus, Armidale, New South Wales, by random electronic draw.
    4. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  7. Prize
    1. There are three prizes to be awarded.
    2. Each winner will receive a UNE merch pack comprising assorted merchandise items to a recommended retail value of at least AUD $100.
    3. The exact merchandise items included in each merch pack are at the Promoter’s discretion and may vary between prize packs.
    4. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
    5. To receive a prize, each winner must provide a valid Australian postal address when contacted by the Promoter.
    6. The prize will be dispatched within 14 days of the winner providing and confirming their postal address.
    7. The Promoter will not be responsible for any costs associated with accepting or using the prize except where expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions.
  8. Winner notification and redraw
    1. Winners will be notified by email using the email address supplied at entry, or by phone if a phone number has been supplied.
    2. Each winner must respond within 7 days of the Promoter first attempting to contact them.
    3. If a winner does not respond within 7 days, or is otherwise unable to accept the prize, the winner will forfeit the prize and the Promoter may conduct a redraw.
    4. Any redraw will take place at 2.00pm AEST on Wednesday 27 May 2026 at the University of New England campus, Armidale, New South Wales, by random electronic draw.
    5. Any redraw winner will be notified by email or phone in the same manner as the original winners.
  9. Privacy Collection Statement
    1. The entrant is providing personal information to the Promoter and not to any other party.
    2. The personal information provided will be collected, used and handled in accordance with UNE’s Privacy Policy available at: https://www.une.edu.au/privacy
    3. The Promoter collects personal information for the purposes of conducting and administering this Competition, including verifying eligibility, contacting winners, and distributing prizes.
    4. By submitting an entry, entrants acknowledge and agree that their details will be added to UNE mailing lists.
    5. Entrants may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe function included in electronic communications or by contacting UNE directly.
    6. The Promoter may disclose personal information to service providers, contractors and regulatory authorities where reasonably necessary for the administration of the Competition or as required by law.
    7. You may request access to or correction of your personal information, or lodge a complaint, by contacting the Privacy Officer at privacy@une.edu.au
  10. Liability and Governing Law
    1. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), as well as any other implied warranties under similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia (Non-Excludable Guarantees).
    2. For any Non-Excludable Guarantee in relation to any prize awarded under these Terms and Conditions for which the Promoter is permitted by law to limit its liability, the Promoter’s liability is limited, at its option, to:
      a. replacement of the prize or supply of an equivalent prize, or
      b. supplying the prize again.
    3. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter, including its officers, employees and agents, excludes all liability for any personal injury, loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of or in connection with the Competition, including but not limited to:
      a. technical malfunctions or failures
      b. unauthorised intervention or third party interference
      c. entries or prize claims that are late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected
      d. any tax liability incurred by an entrant or winner.
    4. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter expressly disclaims liability for any loss, damage or injury suffered in connection with participation in the Competition or acceptance or use of a prize.
    5. This Competition is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Each entrant submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
