The Armidale Campus
Anaiwan Country

The University of New England is located on several sites in Armidale. The main northern campus of the University is five kilometres to the northwest of the city centre, in an attractive rural and bushland setting of 260 hectares. Part of this campus includes the original property presented by the late Mr T. R. Forster to the University of Sydney for the establishment of a University College. This property comprised the old homestead,‘Booloominbah’ – now the administrative centre of the University and the site of the Vice-Chancellor’s office - together with several other buildings and 74 hectares of land. Located nearby on this campus is a magnificent residence “Trevenna” where the Vice-Chancellor resides.

UNE has one of the largest residential systems of any university in Australia. Students choose from eight residences, ranging from fully catered colleges to independent on-campus accommodation. The colleges are more than just places to eat and sleep—they provide academic support, opportunities to participate in social, cultural and sporting activities, and the chance to build networks that last a lifetime.

The University also possesses a number of rural properties in close proximity to the campus, providing facilities for teaching and research.

UNE Tamworth

Kamilaroi Country

Located in the heart of the city, UNE Tamworth Campus provides a hub for staff, students and the community to engage, collaborate and innovate. Students from Tamworth and across the New England region attend the campus to take advantage of the safe, quite space, and the opportunity to connect with other students, seek support from staff and participate in place based activities.

At UNE Tamworth, we aim to move beyond our campus to actively engage our community with a range of activities from thought leadership Speaker Series, place based industry workshops to Country Music Festival showcases. Our UNE Smart Region Incubator program works to support and grow small business in the region.

While working from UNE Tamworth, staff have the option of hot desks or permanent onsite facilities, or a combination of both. Professional and academic staff have the opportunity to join our collaborative workspace as needed.
