Terms and Conditions

The UNE International Student Accommodation Scholarships are for full-time, on-campus international students commencing studies at the University of New England Armidale campus in Trimester 2 or 3, 2025. Scholarships are not available for couples or students accompanied by their families.

Duration of Scholarship

The UNE International Student Accommodation Scholarship will apply for a maximum of 33 weeks (Trimester 2 and Trimester 3 only) commencing in T2 or T3 2025 only.

Value of Scholarship

Each UNE International Student Accommodation Scholarship is valued up to AUD$4,500. Students awarded a scholarship must pay a contribution of AUD$1500 over the two trimesters of the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must:

  1. Be a new commencing international student at UNE;
  2. Be eligible to study in Australia on a Student Visa;
  3. Be over the age of 18 years of age prior to commencing studies at UNE;
  4. Have a valid Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE);
  5. Be enrolling at UNE’s Armidale campus in Trimester 1, 2025 in a CRICOS registered, full degree program of study.
  6. Maintain your enrolment at UNE for the duration of the accommodation scholarship.
  7. Pay the student contribution towards the scholarship.

Conditions

The conditions of the UNE International Student Accommodation Scholarship are:

  1. You must be enrolled at UNE’s Armidale campus as a full-time international student in the on-campus mode of study in a CRICOS-registered full degree program.
  2. You must adhere to all of UNE’s policies and procedures relating to student conduct, including but not limited to:
    1. The UNE Residential College Code of Conduct
    2. The UNE Accommodation Agreement – Terms & Conditions
    3. The UNE Student Behavioural Misconduct Rules
  3. The value of the UNE International Student Accommodation Scholarship is provided as a fee waiver (i.e., you are not provided with the scholarship value in money but are not charged for the value).
  4. Accommodation is for single occupants only. Accommodation for families and couples is not available within the UNE Residential System.
  5. The UNE International Student Accommodation Scholarship covers:
    1. Annual accommodation fees up to AUD$4,500
    2. Fully furnished residential student style college room with single bed, desk & wardrobe
    3. Utility Costs (electricity, heating, water)
    4. Free internet and Wi-Fi access
    5. Campus Security 24 hours, 7 days per week
    6. Dedicated Residential Student Support, including academic support and tutoring
    7. One free airport or train station transfer upon arrival into Armidale (provided by UNE International)
    8. Residential orientation, activities, and special events

The Scholarship does not cover:

  1. Meals
  2. Linen, blankets, etc.
  3. The student contribution of $1500 towards the scholarship over two trimesters
  • Should you extend your stay in the UNE Residential College system outside the length of your accommodation scholarship, you will be required to enter into a new accommodation contract and pay the associated fees. Information on contract options and pricing can be found on the StarRezPortal and is updated for each intake.
  • The Scholarship is not transferable to another person and cannot be deferred until a later intake date.
  • If you withdraw from UNE:
  1. You must notify UNE International as part of your withdrawal request
  2. You will forfeit the remainder of the Scholarship
  3. You may be required to vacate your accommodation within 24 hours or pay short term accommodation fees
  • The UNE College and room allocation will be at the discretion of the UNE Residential System.
  • UNE’s decision about the awarding of scholarships is final and no appeal will be entered into.
